So will all parts of the Modern Warfare series soon be available as remastered versions? We summarize the most important points for you. Keep in mind: These are not official details, but rather leaks and data findings. So take everything with a grain of caution.
What’s new about Modern Warfare 2 Remastered?
Where do the details come from? There have already been numerous rumors about Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, but now the return seems almost confirmed.
After the last major Update 1.18 of the current CoD: Modern Warfare, data miners found an artwork in the game files that clearly shows a remastered version of CoD: MW 2.
In addition, some further details have been posted by well-known CoD leakers Okami and TheGamingRevolution. Both have proven reliable multiple times with their leaks regarding CoD: Modern Warfare.
These are the latest details: According to the latest leaks, MW2 Remastered is supposed to be released this year, 2020. However, it seems that there will not be a comprehensive remaster, only the campaign will be playable as remastered. This has apparently even received a classification for minors in South Korea.
There will not be a newly designed MW2 multiplayer. Instead, the multiplayer maps from Modern Warfare 2 are supposed to be integrated into the multiplayer portion of the current Modern Warfare to avoid losing players from Modern Warfare 2019 and to minimize community division.
Additionally, entries for new bundles for the shop of the current Modern Warfare have also been found in the data, which further hint at the imminent return of Modern Warfare 2 Remastered.
For instance, players who purchase Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will receive the “Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost” bundle. Additionally, there is supposed to be another expensive bundle that includes MW2 Remastered upon purchase.
Is there a concrete release date for Modern Warfare 2 Remastered? Yes, Okami has already hinted that something significant is likely to happen on March 30.
TheGamingRevolution provided a bit more context, stating that he spoke with Okami who had confirmed to him that the remastered campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on 03.30.2020.
