If you want to have all attachments for a weapon in Call of Duty: Vanguard, you first have to level it up. This can be quite exhausting, especially when you constantly have to face players who are too good. CoD expert James “JGOD” Godoy explains how to do it easily – even solo.
What is this trick? JGOD shows in a short clip on Twitter how he levels his weapons. According to his own statements, he has currently leveled 25 of the 32 weapons in Vanguard to the maximum level.
For the trick, he simply enters the zombie mode of the shooter. This features a solo option that you can choose and play. There, he runs around the starting area and kills the zombies present with a melee attack.
This works because the zombies in the first level die with just one hit. However, each zombie provides a decent amount of experience for the weapon. After roughly 35 zombies, he leaves the round and starts a new game.
The expert simply repeats this method until the weapon reaches the maximum level. This is 70 for most weapons and only 60 for pistols. In the video, he is currently leveling his Klauser pistol:
Why level weapons? In Call of Duty: Vanguard, you unlock new attachments at higher weapon levels. You need these to customize your weapons – for example, with special ammunition or even more useful silencers.
Weapons can be equipped with up to 10 attachments. This can significantly change their effectiveness. Certain setups can turn some weapons into absolute monsters:
Leveling weapons in 4 hours: ‘Boring, but efficient’
This is how long leveling takes: When asked how long JGOD takes to level up, he replies: ‘3 hours for each pistol from level 1-60 and 4 hours for any other weapon from level 1-70. Absolute time, not playtime’ (via Twitter.com).
However, he apparently uses double weapon XP tokens during this. You can earn these through leveling in the Battle Pass. In addition, there are double experience points in all modes during certain events .
This method is probably not the fastest, but the safest. Absolutely anyone can replicate it and does not require any prior knowledge. Since you only have to prove yourself against AI opponents, no professionals can mow you down in open rounds.
The 4 hours per weapon is the guaranteed maximum to level a weapon, even if it gets monotonous. JGOD himself says: ‘It’s boring, but efficient.’
What other methods are there? Normally, you level weapons simply by using them in various game modes. The better you are and the more kills you achieve, the more XP you also get. In our guide, you will find more tips for leveling up faster:
On fast maps like Shipment and The House and in modes like Team Deathmatch or Kill Confirmed, this is particularly quick. The problem, however, is that strong opponents can quickly break your streak and you’ll leave with little experience.
