In Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and CoD Warzone, from today, June 17th: The new Season 4 is here! And with a new season, new content traditionally comes to the game. MeinMMO explains to you here how to get the 5 new weapons from Season 4.
What is the deal with the new weapons? Today, on June 17, at 6:00 AM German time in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and the Battle Royale Warzone the 4th joint season started with Update 1.38. Traditionally, the new season brings a big update with various changes and bug fixes, but also new content such as maps or even weapons.

In Season 4, players will get 5 new weapons:
- MG 82 – a machine gun
- C58 – an assault rifle
- OTs 9 – a submachine gun
- Nail Gun – a special SMG
- Mace – melee weapon
Additionally, the baseball bat, which was introduced in Cold War some time ago, is now also coming to Warzone as a melee weapon.

Unlocking the MG 82 in Warzone and Cold War – Here’s how
This new MG has the highest rate of fire in its class and offers moderate damage and recoil as well as increased magazine capacity. You can obtain it relatively simply: by just playing and leveling the Battle Pass. The weapon will then be waiting for you at level 15 and is completely free.
Alternatively, you can also purchase tiers from the Battle Pass, use the bonus tier skips from the Battle Pass bundle, or buy pre-made versions of the weapon via blueprints from different bundles in the in-game store. The MG 82 is available right at the start of the season.
Unlocking the C58 in Warzone and Cold War – Here’s how
This is a new assault rifle with a low rate of fire and comparatively small magazines, but with high damage in close combat and high bullet velocity. You will also unlock this weapon relatively easily, but you will need to put in a bit more effort in Season 4. The C58 will be unlocked once you reach Battle Pass level 31.
Again, you just need to play, but you can also opt for tier skips or paid store bundles with corresponding blueprints. The C58 is available right at the start of the season.
Unlocking the OTs 9 in Warzone and Cold War – Here’s how
This SMG will only come later in Season 4 and is not available at the beginning. It offers high damage, but also high recoil as well as a smaller magazine and range.
Once it becomes available, the OTs 9 can be unlocked through an in-game challenge in Warzone or CoD Cold War. What this challenge looks like is currently unknown and we will add more details as soon as they are available.
Additionally, pre-made variants of the weapon will also be available for purchase through store bundles.
Unlocking the Nail Gun in Warzone and Cold War – Here’s how
The Nail Gun is supposed to be particularly effective in close-range combat and comes as a submachine gun in Warzone and as a special weapon in Cold War right at the beginning of the season.
You can unlock this weapon in 2 ways: through a challenge or through paid bundles in the store once they become available.
The challenge requires you to achieve 5 eliminations with special weapons in 15 different completed matches.
Unlocking the Mace in Warzone and Cold War – Here’s how
With this powerful new melee weapon, you can dismantle opponents in multiplayer with a single blow. However, the mace will not be available right at the start of Season 4 and will come later in the season.
This weapon will also be available through 2 pathways: through an in-game challenge or as an alternative version via a blueprint from a paid bundle. How this challenge looks is currently also unknown, but we will add the exact requirements here as soon as they become known.
What about the baseball bat?
Since the end of May, the baseball bat has been available in the multiplayer of CoD Cold War, but from June 17th, you can also swing the melee weapon in Warzone.
You have 2 options to unlock the weapon for Warzone – either through in-game challenges or through bundles in the store.
For the challenges, you need to
- eliminate opponents with a melee weapon in multiplayer or Warzone that were detected by your spy plane, drone, or field microphone – all in 15 different completed matches.
- eliminate 100 opponents in Zombie mode with a melee weapon who were frozen by your Frost Blast.
