Call of Duty is about to launch Season 4 on June 17. For Battle Royale Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, there will be fresh content. What’s happening with Season 4? On Thursday, June 17, the new Season 4 will launch, and now it is also known what you can expect. In our overview article, you will find information about the content, details about the updates for Cold War and Warzone, as well as some leaks that were circulating ahead of the Season.

Warzone / Cold War: Season 4 Info – Update, Preload, Roadmap
The new season starts on June 17, and the content is expected to go live at 6 AM.
You can download the updates before the season starts. The pre-load for Cold War is already available. Warzone was supposed to follow this morning, but so far there is no pre-load.
With the new season, there are larger updates for Cold War and Warzone. The developers have already released the update sizes:

Battle Pass in Season 4
What does the Battle Pass bring? There will be a Battle Pass with 100 tiers for 1,000 CoD Points.
There is a free path in the Battle Pass that all players can access. In exchange for points and playtime, you can unlock some items from the pass for free. If you already know that you’ll be playing more in CoD Season 4, then the Premium Pass is worthwhile. It offers you more than 100 items to unlock throughout the entire season.
Overall, you can collect Battle Pass progress in three CoDs: CoD MW, Cold War, and Warzone share the Battle Pass. However, the contents are only for Warzone and Cold War.
Warzone & Cold War Battle Pass Season 3 with 100 tiers
- The pass costs 1,000 CoD Points (approx. 10,- €)
- Each of the 100 “tiers” offers a reward
- Operator skin immediately upon purchase
- 2 new weapons to unlock – MG 82 and C58
- Weapon blueprints
- 1,300 CoD Points in total, so you can make a “profit”
- Legendary rewards at the end of the pass
- Many operator skins with missions for even more skins
- Calling cards / Emblems / Sprays / Talismans
- Vehicle items like battle songs or skins
- XP token for an experience points boost
- 10% experience boost on the Battle Pass

Who is the poster boy / poster girl of Season 4? The seasons in Call of Duty usually have a face, with an operator being a bit in the spotlight of the story that runs in the background. In Season 3, it was the fighter “Wraith” – for Season 4, the villain “Jackal” is ready, which you can also see on the roadmap. You receive the operator with the purchase of the Battle Pass, and at level 100, there’s another skin for Jackal.

Content for Cold War & Warzone – Weapons and Event for Season 4
What weapons are coming in Season 4? Call of Duty presents 5 new weapons that are coming to Cold War and Warzone in Season 4. In Warzone, there are actually 6 – the baseball bat from Season 3 will be added later.
- MG 82 – LMG in the Battle Pass (Tier 15): High fire rate meets moderate damage and recoil
- C58 – Assault rifle in the Battle Pass (Tier 31): High damage in close combat with low fire rate and small magazines
- Nail Gun – Special weapon/SMG at the start of the season: Effective in close combat, appears in Warzone as a submachine gun
- OTs 9 – SMG during the season: High damage and recoil but small magazines and range
- Club – Melee weapon during the season: Dismantles enemies in multiplayer with one hit
Ground Fall – Event at launch: In Cold War and Warzone, an event will be available at the launch of the new Season 4. You can unlock cosmetics through gameplay challenges.
Bonus – Possible content for Modern Warfare & Warzone: As a little extra, CoD MW might shine again with a small content update. A purchasable bundle with the popular operator Soap has appeared, and as a weapon blueprint, there is a skin for the CX-9 weapon.
The submachine gun is not yet fully available in the game and is only part of the survival mode of Modern Warfare. Similar to the Sykov pistol just before the end of Season 2, CoD MW might suddenly bring the new weapon together with the operator soon. Cold War Multiplayer gets 5 Maps in Season 4
What’s coming for multiplayer in Season 4? At launch, there are 2 new 6vs6 maps for multiplayer, one multi-team map, and a small gunfight map:
- Collateral Strike – 6vs6: Desert map, apparently with buildings
- Collateral – 12vs12: Larger version with vehicles
- Amsterdam – 2vs2: Small city map
- Hijacked – 6vs6: Classic from Black Ops 2 on a large yacht
During the season, another 6vs6 map called Rush will be released. The map is also known from Black Ops 2 and takes place in a paintball area.
What about scorestreaks for Cold War? Season 4 brings the new scorestreak “Hand Cannon” into the game. This powerful pistol gives you 8 bullets in the magazine that can take out enemies with one hit. In addition, the weapon is supposed to be strong against scorestreaks that operate from the ground – for example, the turret.
Zombies Mode expands Outbreak and shows East Berlin
What’s coming for the zombie mode in Season 4? At launch, there is a new map and the second main quest for the Outbreak mode. The new map takes you to a zoo, as briefly seen in the trailer. With the main quest, the zombie story continues and at the same time prepares the new round-based survival map – Mauer der Toten.
For the mid-season update, the next big zombie map is expected, which will take you to a zombie-infested East Berlin.
Furthermore, the developers have already announced new equipment and wonder weapons. However, the roadmap does not provide any hints. Possibly these innovations will come with the mid-season.
The equipment could be one of the 3 missing perks. You get them in the zombie mode via colorful drink cans, and the corresponding drink machine has 3 free slots left. Leakers suspect that the placeholders represent the perks:
- Double Tap Root Beer – Increases fire rate
- PhD Flopper – Prevents incoming damage from your own weapons
- Mule Kick – You can carry 3 weapons
Which perk comes is uncertain. But for some leakers, “Double Tap” currently makes the most sense.
Warzone with new fast travel system and fresh Gulag
Update June 15: In Warzone, there’s a lot going on right from the start of the season:
- Satellite crashes change the map
- Motorcycles as new vehicles
- Fast travel system “Red Doors”
- New Gulag in the style of the Hijacked map
- Downtown skyscraper
Map Change: In the background story, the henchmen of the Soviet spy “Perseus” continue their dark plans. A few American satellites are in the way, and the villainous showcase operator of Season 4, Jackal, lets the orbital devices crash directly over Verdansk. The satellite crashes provide new locations on the large Warzone map. A small impression of this was already given by the first trailer of Season 4.
New Vehicle – Motorcycle: Warzone is getting new drivable vehicles. The “Dirt Bikes” will be the fastest vehicles in Warzone and are expected to have special handling characteristics. Drifting, sliding, leaning – the bikes will be very mobile and also allow you to perform “sick stunts”. You can also take a teammate with a strong stomach along.
Fast Travel System: With the “Red Doors”, a new fast travel system is likely to come to Warzone. The blog post about Season 4 does not reveal all the details yet, but it sounds like the system has a certain random factor.
New Gulag: The current Standoff Gulag is disappearing and making way for a new Gulag, which is also based on a classic CoD map: the Hijacked Gulag. The new duel arena is modeled after the upper deck of a yacht.
