In Call of Duty: Warzone you can grab a gift again, unlocked thanks to the new Cold War. Streamers solved an Easter egg and now there’s a skin for all players.
What is free? You can obtain a vehicle skin called “Mako”. It has a zebra look and also features some cool stickers on the body.
You can get it when you visit the website “PawnTakesPawn.com”. There, Treyarch had already unlocked a truck skin at the beginning of September. That also involved a big puzzle/easter egg that the community was able to solve.
Now there have been new hints, and diligent players have already deciphered them. We will show you how to obtain the Mako skin.
Cold War gifts you the Mako skin – Here’s what you have to do
How do you get the skin? You need to create accounts on two websites:
- PawnTakesPawn.com – The “Easter Egg” website for Cold War
- CallOfDuty.com – The official homepage of CoD
On the Call of Duty website, you’ll need to link your CoD account – such as your PlayStation or Xbox Live account.
Once these formalities are sorted, it gets exciting. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Log into both of the above websites
- Go to pawntakespawn.com/subterraneansignal
- Several fields will appear that you need to fill out. Proceed as follows:
Top Left: checkpoint
Middle Left: cooldown
Bottom Left: cloudbounce
Top Right: loadout
Middle Right: sidequest
Bottom Right: killscreen - Confirm these codes, and if everything is correct, you will see the achievement notification “knighttours” – click on it, and you will go to the next page
- Here you will see the key. You need to copy it and click on the link below – you will land on the CoD website
- Enter the key there and confirm it – the Mako skin is yours
What is behind this action? This is meant to promote the new CoD Cold War. The website PawnTakesPawn was already the solution for the first trailer for Cold War a few weeks ago.
Once again, players were sent on a puzzle hunt. They had to examine old documents and solve numerous other puzzles to get to these code words.

How long will this skin be available? There is currently no precise information on this. So you shouldn’t delay too long and quickly secure the skin. It could be that the codes are no longer valid in a few days.
What’s new in Cold War? Last weekend, some players were able to test the new Cold War in an alpha. There were mixed reactions.
Otherwise, it is currently quiet again because it can no longer be tested. The streamer shroud had recently spoken positively about Cold War. He believes that it will be easier than Modern Warfare and he particularly likes that point.
