In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the map Cartel has a bad reputation. The reason is the annoying bushes in the center. However, a glitch has allowed a lucky player to cut down the shrubbery. They find the map much better this way.
What’s up with the bushes? The map Cartel in the multiplayer of Cold War takes place in the bushland of South America, which is why the underbrush grows wildly in the center of the map at the Domination point B. Those who want to capture this location are confronted with rows of seemingly harmless bushes.
However, entire hordes of malicious campers can be hiding in them. You can hardly see them unless you have the extremely useful flashlight attached to your weapon.
On the other hand, those who don’t want to run around with a stupid light on their rifle often get shot through the bushes here, which is why many players avoid the center altogether and fight in less bushy areas.
However, due to a glitch, a player enjoyed the map without the annoying shrubbery.
It’s much more fun without bushes!
This is what the map looks like “unbushed”: The player CapAustria experienced a glitch in a round of Cold War on Cartel. This caused the bushes to suddenly disappear when viewed at a certain angle. Apparently, the textures did not load, and suddenly the area was free of the nasty bushes.

Unfortunately, the glitch only lasted for one round and could not be reliably reproduced. Nevertheless, CapAustria and the readers on reddit, where he posted a picture of the bush-free Cartel, were excited.
The thread quickly received over 8.2K upvotes and more than 400 comments:
- Dopestdope456 says, “That looks so much better!”
- GarysSquirtle has another suggestion: “Now it just needs a bit more cover and it would be perfect.”
- GetWreckless thinks it’s already good enough: “Looks damn playable to me, plenty of structures to hide behind. But you can’t see how much cover there is because it’s wrapped in the damn bushes!”
So, let’s hope that the developers might remove or at least reduce the bushes in a later update. Many players would surely appreciate this and make the map overall fairer.
However, Cartel is not the only map in CoD Cold War that currently has problems. In Moscow, you can fall victim to deadly windows.
