Just before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Treyarch and Activision launched a new social media campaign. Under the hashtag #CODNation, numerous short promotional clips for Black Ops 4 can now be viewed. Some of them are quite funny.
The content of the promotional videos comes from the Call of Duty community – mainly from Twitch and YouTube. These showcase funny montages and game moments, and they also parody some celebrities.
For example, the American musician Post Malone is parodied with his song “Rockstar.” The football star Von Miller also makes a quirky appearance in one of the videos with his cowboy hat. An unusual nature documentary about the mating behavior of helicopters is also featured.
