In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the classic prestige system is back. This means you can grind a lot to become prestige master after countless hours. For each prestige level, you need to gain 55 levels. A player has now reached prestige 6, even though he does not use firearms.
Black Ops 6 without firing a shot: The YouTuber “TheseKnivesOnly” is known for playing the various Call of Duty games without firearms. He is taking on this challenge again in Black Ops 6, primarily using the knife and the tomahawk.
In his video from November 12, the YouTuber has now reached prestige 6. This means he has effectively played up to level 55 6 times – a total of 330 levels. To achieve this, he played a total of 527 matches.
The statistics of the YouTuber additionally show: He has achieved over 13,500 kills, including over 9,300 with the knife and 3,500 with the tomahawk. He has a K/D of 2.16.
Occasionally, TheseKnivesOnly also makes kills with various firearms, but according to him, this is due to the new feature that allows you to take an enemy as a hostage/shield. Here, the executions count as kills for the equipped primary weapon, which is why he has an accuracy of 0.00% with those weapons.
Ghost, Smokes, and a Bit of Cheating
How does he do it? The big keyword is probably “Reverse Boosting” – TheseKnivesOnly seems to be playing with a so-called “nephew account” that leaves the lobby after matchmaking.
In the videos, it can be seen that the YouTuber’s team always starts a round outnumbered, having only 5 out of 6 players. It appears that TheseKnivesOnly leaves the match with the nephew account at the start of the round, possibly so that no idle account is visible in the videos.
Activision views boosting and reverse boosting as a violation of the guidelines and can suspend players for it (via activision.com)
Apart from the nephew account, only equipment and perks matter. Naturally, the tomahawk is the biggest asset, as it allows him to get kills over several meters even without firearms.
The smoke grenades also allow him to block an enemy’s line of sight at greater distances, thus reducing the distance to him. He uses the following perks:
- Ninja (quieter footsteps)
- Ghost (no ping on the minimap)
- Tracker (makes footsteps visible)
- Agility (tactical sprint lasts longer)
The wildcard “Extra Greed” allows him to equip a total of 4 perks, resulting in him having 3 blue perks despite “Agility”. This allows him to use the blue combat specialty “Recon”, which was far too strong at the release of Black Ops 6 and has since been nerfed multiple times: CoD Black Ops 6 nerfs a much too strong perk for the second time in 7 days, yet it is still really good
