The community of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is frustrated because Activision boasts about 19,000 bans, but the worst cheaters are still active.
What is going on with Black Ops 6? The latest Call of Duty, like many other shooters and multiplayer games, has a problem: numerous players are cheating with external software in PvP matches.
- On November 21, 2024, the Ranked mode of the multiplayer was launched in CoD Black Ops 6. Players compete in regulated matches to achieve the highest ranks or even reach the leaderboards with the best players.
- Shortly after the launch of the Ranked mode, it was already filled with cheaters. Many players used very obvious cheats like the so-called “spinbotting,” where the game characters spin quickly while shooting accurately at everything nearby – in every direction.
- On November 26, 2024, Activision announced in a post on X.com that they had banned 19,000 cheaters in Black Ops 6.
Many players of the popular shooter reacted on social media to the 19,000 bans, but for some, this is not a reason to celebrate; the reported bans simply are not enough.
The worst cheaters are still active
Why is that not enough? Players cite various reasons for this. One user comments, for example, on X.com that after the 19,000 bans, 25,000 new accounts are simply created.
The content creator and former CoD pro Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag even refers to the announcement as “complete propaganda” and questions how Activision could ban 19,000 players if the most obvious cheaters are still active (via X.com).
According to Nadeshot, at least 10 names on the first three pages of the leaderboards are obvious cheaters, seen spinbotting in the streams of legitimate top players.
Some players also comment that this is the same announcement as every year and yet the issue has not noticeably improved over the years. CoD: Warzone is also a topic. Players report encountering cheaters in every match and are asking Activision about the current situation there.
Many players also say they were falsely banned and want to know what is being done about it. This has already been a topic in the community in the past weeks – even before the launch of the Ranked mode.
