The new playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is now live and brings new game modes. However, the promised changes for the Battle Royale mode Warzone are still missing.
This is included in the update: In a tweet, developer Infinity Ward announced the changes to the playlist for the multiplayer of Modern Warfare. The update went live at around 8 PM German time. The following changes are made:
- Cranked replaces Drop Zone
- Hut Fever replaces Cabin Fever
- The “Stir Crazy” playlist has been removed
- Realism Ground War has been removed
- Aniyah Palace has been removed from Ground War
The “Cranked” mode is a team deathmatch where you die 30 seconds after a kill if you do not kill another player. This makes Cranked the perfect anti-camper mode.
Hut Fever is the smaller version of Cabin Fever. Instead of 10-player maps, you play here in a playlist of 6v6 maps with popular maps like Rust, Shipment, and Shoot House.
Additionally, the new “Ronin” bundle is now active in the shop, allowing you to unlock a new operator and some skins.

Playlist update for Warzone still missing
This should change: Along with the now active changes, Activision has also promised a change to the BR mode Warzone. However, this time it seems it will not come simultaneously.
According to the blog post, several game modes specifically for trio teams and other modes are planned. The playlist should look as follows:
- Battle Royale 4-man
- Battle Royale 3-man
- Plunder 3-man
- Battle Royale Solo
So far (as of 8:30 PM), however, the playlist is still the old one and the duo plunder is still active.

When the update will come, we cannot say exactly yet. In the past, the playlist updates were released either on Tuesday evenings between 7:00 and 8:00 PM or the following morning around 8:00 AM.
How players are reacting: On Twitter, a large majority of users are asking shortly after the tweet appears about the whereabouts of the duo modes of Warzone. While they are not gone yet, it seems to be concerning the players already.
In one of the last updates, the popular trio mode was removed and shortly thereafter added back. This may also be the case this time, and the duos will return if there is enough pressure from the community.
