If you are looking for a shooter that you can enjoy playing in two, then Steam currently has a very good offer – €15 for a game that is considered “one of the best of its kind.”
Which game is being referred to? It’s Roboquest. The co-op shooter from developer RyseUp Studios was released in August 2020 as an Early Access version. The final release followed in November 2023 on Steam, where you can currently get Roboquest for €14.99 instead of €24.99.
Roboquest is a fast-paced FPS roguelite that sends you into a burnt future world. There, you can resist waves of deadly robots either alone or with a friend.

Shooter secret tip is a mix of Borderlands and Doom
Roboquest remains a hidden gem: Although the game has been out for nearly 5 years and is rated “very positive” by players on Steam, the player numbers remain modest. Within the last 24 hours, only 432 players were online at the same time (via steamdb.info; as of March 4, 1:51 PM).
MeinMMO editor Nikolas Hernes has already played the co-op shooter himself and describes it as a hidden gem for anyone who loves Doom and Borderlands. While the game’s cel-shading graphics strongly resemble Borderlands, the gameplay is more akin to boomer shooters like Doom.
Roboquest draws on games like Doom for its fast-paced gameplay. You have rocket jumps, rails to slide on, and solid level design that rewards good movement. It is fast but always feels precise and impactful.

The gameplay is combined with roguelite elements. In each run, you find random weapons and perks, from which you can construct your own build in combination with the class you choose (there are 6 of them). Roboquest impresses players with fast gunplay, cohesive visuals, and a variety of powerful builds.
