universe. In a dystopian world where you wouldn’t want to live, you fight against countless chaos-corrupted humans.
Now the developers at Fatshark have announced a new mode that focuses on casual fun with countless hordes and random buffs instead of fixed loadouts. This is also intended to appeal to players who do not necessarily want to grind the endgame.

What kind of mode is this? In a new blog post, the developers at Fatshark announced the new mode Mortis Trials
for the upcoming update Nightmares & Visions
. Mortis Trials relies on a roguelike structure and a lot of chaos.
You will be able to play Mortis Trials from level 13, and the mode is supposed to offer an easy and quick introduction.
- Each round consists of 12 waves, in which you must face hordes of heretics.
- You will not only have to eliminate enemies mindlessly, as every 3 waves you will receive an objective that will give you a strong buff if you complete it.
- Before the round, you select a buff and then you can choose from different archetypes:
- Pyrokinetic
- Voltaic
- Fulminator
- Death Dealer
- Colossus
- The later buffs in the runs are also supposed to be based on this.
The various buffs are supposed to become stronger the further you progress, and in the last 3 waves you should be able to unleash yourself with your now powerful character.
The mode is intended to offer replayability through the roguelike mechanics and challenges with different difficulty levels. In the form of unlockable conversations, lore enthusiasts should also get their money’s worth.
