In Valheim, you are constantly gathering resources and a well-thought-out storage system can save you a lot of time. A new mod introduces a container that shows you at a glance what and how much is in a box. This can save you a lot of nerves and frustration.
Epic battles, grand views, and exciting adventures make the survival hit Valheim a really good game. But logistics is also an issue and proper inventory management is a must if you want to enjoy your base. However, this is often not so easy:
- You need to plan a lot of space for storage boxes when building your bases
- The storage system should be organized and comprehensible
- Every item must be quickly reachable and accessible
The requirements pose challenges even for experienced base builders and every new item that comes into play through progress in the game world can disrupt the fragile logistics of a sorted Viking household.
MeinMMO shows you a small mod that is very helpful for item storage and turns typical chaotic storage in Valheim into a joy for dedicated pickers.
Valheim Mod: Item Drawers with Smart Storage Container
What does the mod do? With the “Item Drawers” mod, you get a new container in your building menu, which you can build for 10 fine wood. The new storage box comes with helpful features:
- You can only pack one type of item
- The items in the box can be displayed on the container
- The number of items will also be displayed
While you can only pack one item in the box, you can see in advance which item is in the box and how much you have stored. If you organize a storage area only with these boxes, you will never have to frantically and slightly annoyed rummage through all your boxes again to find the remaining resin for a few quick fire arrows.

How does it work? In addition to better overview, the mod boxes help you with quick access. You do not go into the box, but handle everything via keyboard shortcuts that either store or withdraw items:
- You store items in empty boxes via your tool belt
- When you interact with the box, you get a stack in your inventory
- Alt (left) + Interact – Takes out only 1 item
- Shift (left) + Interact – Packs all items from your inventory into the box
- Alt (left) + Interact – Deletes the item from an empty container so you can store another one
You see your items better and can get them into your inventory faster. A strong mod that saves a lot of time and nerves.
