Simulators are the genre where all sorts of quirky stuff is created. One of the stranger representatives is PowerWash Simulator, which has been available on Steam since May 2021. Now it has received a cooperative mode that excites players.
What kind of game is this? PowerWash Simulator was released in Early Access on Steam on May 19. There, you run your own pressure washing business and also do the corresponding work yourself. The goal is satisfied (and clean) customers.
In career mode, you are supposed to clean your neighborhood in ‘Muckingham’ while building up your cleaning empire. The better and faster you clean cars, house fronts, and more, the more points you get.
In challenge mode, you have to clean particularly quickly or accurately. Various ‘enemies’ like moss, mold, and graffiti present different challenges. The free mode lets you experiment as you like. You can customize your tools with cosmetics.
Since December 2, PowerWash Simulator also has a multiplayer mode in beta. With the free update, you can help a friend online in co-op or clean things in free mode with up to 6 players.
‘I have no idea why this game is so relaxing and satisfying’
This is how well PowerWash Simulator is received: Since release, the simulator has 98% positive feedback out of 12,200 reviews, making it ‘extremely positive’ (via Steam). Recent reviews have improved even further, with 99%, as the co-op mode was a highly requested feature.
Many fans appreciate PowerWash Simulator for its relaxed gameplay. Although it is essentially work, many players use the simulator to unwind after work. The combination of simple gameplay and various challenges seems to be well received.
However, many fans cannot directly say what exactly makes PowerWash Simulator so exciting. From Ishtar on Steam, it is said:
I just paid €16 and sat at my computer for 2 hours at a sunny 24°C to ‘pressure wash’ a virtual garden… and I regret nothing!
Seriously: I have no idea why this game is so relaxing and satisfying – but it is.
The few negative criticisms the game receives mainly complain about a lack of variety. The well-known YouTuber Kalle Koschinsky says: ‘Where is the ‘game’ supposed to be relaxing? I just got frustrated.’ Even in positive reviews, fans explain that you shouldn’t expect too much – it’s just a cleaning simulation.
PowerWash Simulator costs €19.99 and is available on Steam. A version for Xbox and PlayStation is not yet in the works. The developers like the idea, as they say, but first want to see how the Early Access goes (via Twitter.com).
This is happening on Steam right now: Currently, there is a lot going on in the survival area on Steam. The 7-year-old hit The Forest has suddenly gained tens of thousands of players after the second part was announced. This is set to be released in May 2022 and is already creating a huge hype.
In addition, on Friday, December 3, the new game Icarus from the DayZ creator was launched. It has already excited many fans in beta but has also raised skeptics. According to them, DayZ is still not finished today, and they want to wait and see what happens with Icarus. Accordingly, the reviews look like this:
