Here, Tencent has actually struck a deal after months of rumors. The Chinese company is acquiring, as reported by TechinAsia, the Finnish gaming company Supercell for $8.6 billion.
Supercell is known for its mobile titles like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. Tencent is paying $8.6 billion for an 84% stake from the former owner, Softbank.
Tencent also owns studios like Riot Games, the creators of League of Legends. And they hold shares in Activision Blizzard and Epic Games.
Activision Blizzard had paid $5.9 billion in January for “Candy Crush” maker King.
