The upcoming MMORPG Chronicles of Elyria aims to offer players many freedoms and opportunities. This includes becoming the ruler of a kingdom and influencing the lore.
The story of Chronicles of Elyria will differ from server to server.
For each server, the community can already participate significantly, well before the game’s release, in creating their own backstories for the countries and provinces of the game world. This lore will then be unique for each server. Therefore, it is already important for players to choose one of the servers on which they want to play.
Community chooses their king
A new video shows what this can look like. At the beginning, you will see the backstory of one of the servers that has been developed with the community. But the video has more to offer. Because one of the countries on the North American Luna server does not yet have a king. And this king is to be elected from the community.
The developers have come up with something special: the Kingdom Tokens. These can be purchased by players to support the development of the game and also to collect. Because whoever owns the most tokens will become the king. Now one might think that the person who buys the most Kingdom Tokens will automatically become the ruler. However, this is not the case. It is possible to give away the tokens.
Only those supported by many have a chance at the crown
This means that a community can buy tokens for a specific person they want to have as their king. It doesn’t matter who has the deepest wallet, but who receives the most support from the community. Additionally, you earn XP, the in-game currency of the game, with the purchase of tokens. This XP can then be used to modify your backer level. This way, you receive specific bonus items or starter sets that you add to your level using your collected XP.
Chronicles of Elyria is currently still in a very developmental phase. Due to the enormous scope of the game, the entire development schedule had to be adjusted. The alpha is now set to start only at the beginning of the coming year.
