Soon, the winter event “The Dawning” will start in Destiny 2. In a fresh, winter trailer, Bungie has now compactly presented what Guardians can expect in 2020 during The Dawning.
What is The Dawning about? The Dawning, also known as “Der Anbruch” in German, is essentially the annual winter event of Destiny 2, which traditionally sweetens the Christmas season for Guardians – this time as part of Season 12.
The Tower of the Last City is then decorated in a festive look. It snows, beautiful lights are hanging everywhere, and there is a festive atmosphere. During the event, Guardians can bake cookies, secure festive loot, or stock up on thematically inspired items from the Eververse.

What does the trailer show? With a new trailer, Bungie has presented a little preview of what to expect during The Dawning in 2020. You can look forward to the following, among other things:
- Eva Levante as the contact person for the event. The Destiny Grandma is stationed this year under a particularly elegantly decorated tree in the Tower
- New universal armor ornaments in a Christmas design, which Bungie presented early because Guardians donated generously
- New emotes, Ghost shells, Sparrows, ships, or a new event weapon – the fusion rifle Glacioclasm
- It seems that snowballs can be thrown again

When exactly does the Dawning event take place? The Dawning will begin on December 15, 2020. The Christmas festivities will last into the new year 2021 – namely until January 5. All Guardians can participate, regardless of optional add-ons like the “Beyond Light” expansion or the Season of the Hunt.
