The loot boxes in Overwatch will soon receive new content! Dozens of new items can be obtained, including new legendary skins that allow Hanzo and Lúcio to embody the traditions of their home countries!
Hardworking players in Overwatch can expect new content in the loot boxes starting next Wednesday, January 24. The new content will be included in the “old standard boxes” of Overwatch.
New skins, sprays, and logos can be obtained at any time through boxes, arcade modes, and level-ups – or purchased with credits. There are no event boxes for the new items, so they will remain in the loot pool continuously.
From Musician to Dancer: Capoeira Lúcio
The universally popular DJ and support from Brazil receives a skin in the Capoeira style. More wood-like in appearance, with a new tattoo on his shoulder and fewer neon colors, Capoeira Lúcio looks less futuristic and more classic.
Capoeira is a traditional martial dance from Brazil, showcasing Lúcio’s connection to his homeland – especially since he occasionally speaks in his native language, Portuguese.

Even More Tradition: Kabuki Hanzo
The Japanese archer Hanzo also receives a skin that anchors him in the tradition of his country. Painted in ghostly pale makeup, the Kumadori, and featuring subtle red and black accents, Hanzo embodies an actor from traditional Japanese theater with the new skin.
Kabuki is the Japanese art form of theater. Singing, dancing, and mime make the performances demanding. The strong, white makeup is one of its core features. While Hanzo still lacks the traditional Kyūdō bow for the full Japanese experience, that can still be added later.
