The sneaker manufacturer Artifact Studios has presented its new model: shoes that look like a PC. Or are they actually a functioning PC?
What kind of shoes are these? What happens when a luxury sneaker manufacturer with limited designs teams up with a gaming PC manufacturer for a joint project? Apparently, “the future of fashion and collectibles.”
This is at least how Artifact Studios announced their latest creation: shoes powered by an “RTX 3080.”
The futuristic design of the shoes combines the look and shape of sneakers with a PC case, as inside you can see cabling and hardware through the glass that resembles a motherboard.
Artifact Studios partnered with the manufacturer NZXT. This company is known for PC cases and PC hardware, but also for liquid cooling solutions. In a video on Twitter, Artifact Studios demonstrates the joint creation with NZXT:
Like most other products from RTFKT, these shoes will also be limited. However, it is still unknown how much they will cost. So if any of you want to grab the sneakers, you’ll need to be patient and keep your eyes peeled.
Can the shoes actually do anything? It is not quite clear whether RTFKT’s new “PC sneakers” actually house a small PC that can also be used for gaming.
The shoes feature small working screens that can display anime like Dragon Ball or Yu-Gi-Oh! as shown in the Twitter video. This strongly resembles NZXT’s own liquid cooling. The “NZXT Kraken Z63” liquid cooler features customizable LCD displays that can showcase various things like videos.
So it could very well be that your PC sneakers are cooled with water.

Nevertheless, these special sneakers seem to be more suited to being placed on a shelf with your other gaming merchandise and collectibles.
Wearing the sneakers like regular shoes would likely be rather suboptimal given the hardware inside. Moreover, it would likely be quite a wet affair for your feet with liquid cooling.
Who is Artifact Studios? The company specializes in the production of luxurious shoes that are available in limited quantities. Their designs are mostly inspired by gaming and e-sports, and they have previously collaborated with stars like the FaZe Clan.
For the RTX-3080 sneakers, they collaborated with PC hardware and case manufacturer NZXT to come up with yet another extravagant concept for shoes that you have seen above.
