The developers of The Division 2 provide 7 tips for the beta launch to help you navigate the Private Beta better and what you should pay attention to.
Here’s what it’s about: On Thursday, February 7th, the Private Beta for The Division 2 started. The testing phase runs until Monday, February 11th, at 11 AM. At the launch, Division developer Chadi El Zibaoui shares useful tips on Gamesradar to help you get through the beta smoothly.
We have selected the 7 most important ones and summarized them for you. Keep in mind that these tips are also aimed at players who are completely new to The Division. Not every experienced player will necessarily find these tips useful.
1. Play the introductory missions at the beginning
The advice may sound strange at first, but when starting in the beta, you can theoretically start running around in the open world immediately. However, it’s better to complete the introductory missions first. This will give you a decent boost in terms of equipment and XP.
Also, make sure to unlock your two skill slots as quickly as possible. You will receive the first one from the Quartermaster in the White House, your operations base. The second one will be unlocked during the first missions. After that, you can still focus on the open world and other activities.
2. Pay attention to the enemies’ weak points
Enemies now have proper armor pieces that make them tougher. You can specifically destroy these parts. So focus your shots on one of these spots.
Once you destroy the part, the enemy is significantly more vulnerable at that spot. This way, you can eliminate tougher foes much faster. This mainly concerns elite enemies, which can be identified by their yellow health bars.
3. Pay attention to your own armor
Players also have armor that can be destroyed by enemies. It is displayed above the health bar as a gray bar with several segments.
How to repair your armor: You have armor pieces with you that function like medkits. If you want to repair the armor, you must consume these pieces. The use takes a few seconds. During this time, you are vulnerable to your enemies. So be careful, as without armor you can go down quickly.
4. Collect suitable brand sets for additional bonuses
In The Division 2, there are called brand set pieces. A proper assembly of the respective brands can be advantageous.
This is how brand sets work: There are several brands. Each brand has its own armor pieces. If you wear several pieces from the same brand, you unlock additional bonuses. It can therefore be worthwhile to keep an eye out for the corresponding brands. This can even optimize certain playstyles.
5. Coordinate with your team
If you are in a group, you can improve your team play and effectiveness. The choice of your skills, weapons, and equipment can unfold even better in a team that is coordinated.
This way, everyone can choose their role; a healthy mix of offensive and defensive play can pay off. Having a sniper in the team is often quite practical, for example.
6. Take on control points to grab loot
If you are looking for a way to quickly get equipment, you should check out the control points scattered around the game world.
What are control points? At these hotspots, multiple enemies gather. They are stronger than the average NPC enemies you encounter in the world. If you attack them, they will call for reinforcements. This is a great opportunity to get loot, especially in the beginning.
You can also call other civilians for reinforcement. Veterans can rest assured that this reinforcement is by no means as useless as the JTF units from the predecessor.
7. Take a detour into the Dark Zone
What is the Dark Zone anyway? It is a separated area that mixes PvP and PvE. Anyone who has avoided the Dark Zone so far should take a look at it during the beta. When you enter it for the first time, you have a story mission that you must complete first. During this time, you can move around without disturbance.
Even with other players nearby, it’s not difficult to get loot. Because now you will also find equipment that goes directly into your inventory. Therefore, a detour into the Dark Zone can generally pay off, as you no longer have to worry about your loot.
