Breeding a dog from space herpes
In the MMO shooter Warframe, there are classic dogs and cats as pets. They are called Kubrows and Kavats and do not look like normal animals. They fight as loyal companions alongside the players.
More tumor than dog: Among the Kubrows, there is a special species known as the Helminth Charger. This dog is essentially a genetically modified tumor, and it requires special measures to obtain it.
An incredibly strange way to get a pet: If a large pink cyst grows on your neck, you have contracted the Helminth virus in Warframe. It spreads faster than rabbits, and simply playing with an infected in an instance is enough to get infected.
From cyst to dog: Once the cyst is large and ripe, a single hair sprouts from it. Now the cyst can be “harvested” and processed into the genetic code of a Kubrow egg. Out comes an adorable tentacle puppy.
