At Pax West 2018, BioWare released a new trailer for Anthem and 10 new images. The trailer “Our World, My Story” shows how players are supposed to write their own, individual story in the online shooter.
Anthem aims to be a dynamic world that constantly changes. In this world, players will have the opportunity to experience an individual story. The heart of the lore will be Fort Tarsis.
This is how Anthem wants to be an MMO shooter with a BioWare story
What Does the Video Show?
Open World Map: At the beginning of the video, the four Javelin exosuits are shown on the world map. Players take on the role of a so-called Freelancer, who accepts quests from agents. The exosuits are then used in the missions.
Fort Tarsis: Fort Tarsis is particularly in focus in this trailer, as it will become the central point of Anthem.
In the panel, the developers explained that the entire lore (backstory) of Anthem takes place here. The NPCs are partially intertwined in their stories. The interaction with the characters there is also part of the player’s own story in the online shooter.
Mass Effect-style, players can choose different options on how to advance the story. Thus, Anthem is also supposed to provide an individual story for each player.
