Anthem has shown the upcoming winter event Icetide on its test server for a few days. Some players have already tested it and shared their first impressions.
This is what the winter event looks like: In the upcoming winter event Icetide, the map of Anthem will be covered in snow. All areas will receive a white snow blanket – even the hot and humid jungle.
The new event was available for testing from November 8-11. The test included one of the new features: snow globe storms that turn the world into a real snow globe at certain locations:
When does the event come? So far, there has been no information about the event dates. However, since it is a winter event, it is likely to start sometime in November or December.
What is included in the winter event Icetide
These features the event brings: In a blog post, EA has already revealed what new content you can expect in Icetide. This includes:
- two strongholds (Mines of Tyranny and Heart of Wrath) with timers to make them more exciting
- winter decorations in Fort Tarsis
- encounters with outlaws and snow globe storms in freeplay
Additionally, a brand new event is coming: The Freelancer Time Trial. In this, your skills as a pilot are required.
In a wild race through the air, you must pass through several rings and be as fast as possible. The time will be measured so you can compare yourself with others. The event is supposed to take place every 5 minutes.
You can find a brief overview of the features in the video by Food Then Games:
Are there rewards? Similar to the previous Halloween event, you can earn crystals with which you can buy seasonal cosmetics. This time they are said to have a “wintery” appearance.
The crystals are earned by completing the strongholds, where you can increase your score with multipliers, inversions, and more.
