For weeks, the survival MMO Atlas has been in Early Access. Plagued by numerous issues, there is something that primarily frustrates honest players. Cheats, hacks, exploits, and glitches make the MMO nearly unplayable on the official servers. Especially the Chinese and large companies are accused in the Atlas Subreddits of exploiting these bugs.
This is the problem: Atlas currently has no active measures against cheaters. Reporting cheats and their users proves to be difficult. Players turn to the subreddit and forum, hoping that the developers will take notice of the outcry.
Honest players report teleporting cheaters, incredible running speeds, and aim hacks. This is frustrating not only in PVP but also in PVE. Hours of work spent building a galleon can be destroyed in seconds. Entire companies are wiped out by script commands and everything they have fought for is obliterated.
Anti-cheat is coming: Grapeshot Games has become aware of the issue and promises a solution soon. The BattleEye anti-cheat client is being prepared for Atlas. Already in ARK, Conan Exiles, and other titles, BattleEye ensures more security.
Additionally, there is now the option to create a support ticket. There you can report other players who violate the code of conduct. This includes cheating, exploiting, hacking, as well as insulting other players and racism.
This is what the players say: The Atlas community is heavily discussing the topic in the Subreddits and the official forums. Reddit user Zharak says: “I had to pause my game for several hours every day. Otherwise, I would have been taken out with just one shot every time and my entire equipment would have been gone.”
OmiNya describes a recent incident: “We occupied a whole island with our company and alliance and had some ships on the coast. Suddenly, a stranger came by and did something. All ships sank immediately and simultaneously. ‘Nice cheats dude.'”
