On April 1, a tournament for $20,000 took place in CoD Warzone . Some of the biggest streamers from Twitch, YouTube, and Mixer participated. However, the event was overshadowed by cheaters. The organizer calls out: “CoD Warzone will be dead in a week if nothing happens.”
What kind of tournament is this? The controversial internet personality Daniel “Keemstar” regularly hosts tournaments in shooters, inviting popular streamers.
These are not very serious tournaments: The best players are not invited, but streamers who bring a lot of reach and with it ratings. Such tournaments have already taken place in Fortnite: Here, “Friday Fortnite” was a hit. A tournament in 2019 was watched by 10 million people.

Now Keemstar is launching “Warzone Wednesday” following the same scheme. The 2nd tournament of this kind on April 1 had a prize pool of $20,000.
Essentially, the tournament is an opportunity for streamers to duel with other well-known streamers. This allows them to entertain their viewers and perhaps gain new ones. The actual currency is “Clout”, the internet fame.
Some of the top stars from Twitch, Mixer, and YouTube participated
Who participated in the tournament? 16 teams of 3 streamers each participated, including Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Courage, nadeshot, DrLupo, summit1g, or NICKMERCS.
They are among the most popular shooter streamers from Twitch, Mixer, and YouTube.

This is how the tournament went: In the tournament, teams don’t really compete against each other; instead, the teams land in normal lobbies of CoD Warzone and try to collect as many kills as possible:
- In the end, the team of JoshOG, HusKerrs, and Diegosaurs won
- Ninja, King Richard, and Albraleli came in 2nd place

“250,000 watching as hackers ruin the tournament”
This was the problem: Currently, CoD Warzone is infested with cheaters and hackers and this was clearly evident in the tournament.
Ninja tweeted after the tournament: They were killed in the game in the 2nd circle by hackers. He hopes that Activision does something about the cheaters soon.
eSport journalist Rod Breslau said: 250,000 people are currently watching as cheaters absolutely ruin the “Warzone Wednesday” tournament. The game is being destroyed by cheaters.
No matter how good Call of Duty is: This problem needs to be addressed.
If nothing changes, Warzone will be dead in a week
The organizer also states: Hackers have taken over Warzone. It is not possible to investigate every match and allow teams that are taken out by cheaters to restart.
CoD needs to fix Warzone; otherwise, the game will be dead in a week.
At the moment, there is some excitement about cheaters in CoD Warzone. There is still no way to report cheaters.
Infinity Ward has already responded and emphasized what they are doing to solve the cheater problem. They say they have banned 50,000 cheaters and are planning measures to better combat cheaters. The tournament now makes it clear: The fight against hackers and cheaters should be a top priority for Infinity Ward.
