The anti-cheat system “RICOCHET” of Call of Duty: Warzone has stepped up its game. Instead of just banning cheaters, the tricksters are now facing extreme disadvantages in matches. A clip shows how hard this hits some cheaters.
Cheaters had better times in Call of Duty: Warzone. For months, they dominated the battlefields of the free battle royale and felt like unloved kings.
But CoD stepped up in the fight for fairness, developed a new anti-cheat system, and celebrated initial successes in the weeks following its introduction.
Call of Duty currently identifies a rise in cheaters in Warzone, and to learn more about the cheats, the developers are now letting the tricksters play longer without banning them. However, not without extreme gameplay disadvantages that are driving some tricksters to despair.
Cheater gives up – “I’m uninstalling everything I have”
A celebrated example of a desperate cheater can currently be found on the discussion platform reddit.
The Redditor “Charlie_In_The_Bush” posted the video of a cheater. It shows a Warzone trickster demonstrating the new features of the anti-cheat and appearing quite desperate:
In the nearly one-minute video, the cheater can be seen landing with his parachute on an opponent to demonstrate what the anti-cheat system does to him.
He chases an enemy, fired a few bullets at the opponent, and … the enemy disappears.
“Look, he disappears! Right there! He disappears from my screen!” the cheater screams and doesn’t quite understand what’s happening to him.
CoD now not only ensures that cheaters cannot cause damage anymore. The game can also simply make enemies disappear for the tricksters now.
It seems as if the enemy player completely disappears for the cheater. Neither the activated wallhack nor the running enhanced reconnaissance drone shows the opponent to the trickster.
With a frustrated “Anti-cheat is real!” he ends the match and announces that he will uninstall everything. Whether the cheater only means his cheating software or the whole Warzone is not clear.
What do players say about it? In the thread to the clip on reddit, many commentators find the video very “satisfying”. There are some who thank for posting the video.
However, the mood is also partly tense. Many insult the cheater or cheaters in general.
The majority, however, remains schadenfreude. And it actually feels quite good to see the cheater’s house of cards collapse.
