In CoD Warzone there are a lot of cheaters on PC, but consoles used to be relatively safe. However, that might change soon. A cheat analyst raises concerns as cheats are evolving.
What is the deal with the new cheats? Until now, cheats were considered a problem for PC gamers. Those playing on console could simply turn off crossplay and likely be safe from cheaters. Because console cheats were a rarity for a long time.
However, according to cheat analyst GamerDoc and his Twitter Anti-Cheat-Police-Department, cheaters increasingly attack consoles with new cheats as a safe haven. In a tweet, he warns by sharing a clip that is circulating in cheat forums, showing nearly 2 minutes of joyous cheating in CoD.
Consoles are no longer a “Safe Place”
How does the cheat work? According to GameDoc, the cheat is supposed to use “machine learning” to generate a kind of aimbot. The cheat then sends signals to the controller whenever a valid target appears in the field of view.
This is an advanced form of an aim-bot, as one only needs to aim roughly in the direction of the target, and the machine does the rest.
Can anything be done about it? In another tweet, GamerDoc explains that it is indeed possible to detect these cheats, but it is “a huge task for the developers”.
It is far from easy to detect these new cheats and respond as a developer. This has been the case on PC for a long time, but now it is the consoles’ turn, and soon there will be no safe place where users can fear no cheats.
The analyst also emphasizes that he shares this information to warn about the impending threat from cheaters. Moreover, CoD is just the beginning; the cheats could transfer to any other online game.
It was particularly severe recently in Destiny 2, where new cheats were discovered that make even aimbots appear harmless!
