What about the costs of ChatGPT? The Chief Analyst of the research and analysis company SemiAnalysis told the US economic magazine The Information that ChatGPT could cost up to €700,000 per day. This is mainly due to the expensive technical infrastructure behind the AI, such as servers and GPUs, which are continuously operational.
AI model that costs thousands of euros per month
What kind of subscription is this? According to a report from The Information, OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, plans to offer higher-priced AI models in the future. These specialized ‘AI agents’ will be tailored to various applications, such as software development.
Depending on the ‘agent’, usage would cost $2,000 or even $10,000 per month. The most expensive agent is expected to cost $20,000 (approximately €18,000) per month, but it should support research at the level of scientific dissertations.
Currently, however, there has been no official announcement from OpenAI regarding the intention to actually launch an AI agent for $20,000.
An AI subscription that is expected to cost up to $20,000 a month could definitely help OpenAI cover the high daily operating costs of ChatGPT.
