In The Division 2, character creation is significantly more extensive than in the first part. However, agents miss some features.
These features are missed in the character editor: Shortly after the early access launch of The Division 2, one of the top posts in the Division Reddit is a complaint post by a young man. He complains that he feels discriminated against as a bald man.
The character editor does not allow agents to be bald. You can only choose a buzz cut – that is, a very short hairstyle. However, this buzz cut is not the same as being bald, emphasizes the user.
In the comments, most agents respond with humor. One jokes that a bald head would greatly affect gameplay. Because bald agents would have speed advantages, as the lack of hair provides no wind resistance. As a bald man, he knows this to be true.
Others write that they have been bald for years and now face an almost insurmountable decision about which hairstyle to give their agent. The disappointment is immense! Words like “discrimination” and “unplayable” appear in the comments – most certainly written with irony.
Nevertheless, another important feature is still missing, which men must do without: the three-day beard. In addition to the full beard and the mustache, there are six other beard styles, but no three-day beard.
Character Editor – How to create and customize your agent
When you start with The Division 2, the game begins directly with character creation. First, choose whether you want an agent or an agent (this is determined by “Switch Body Type”) – and then you have numerous customization options.
The customization options for the character are:
- Appearance: Here you can choose between 12 head shapes, customize the face, adjust skin, eye, and hair color, and adjust hair and beard
- Special features: Here you can select scars, facial paint, and tattoos on the neck, arms, and legs
- Outfits: Additionally, you can choose a headgear, glasses, a shirt, pants, shoes, and a “patch.”
Especially in tattoos, hair colors, and facial paint, there is quite a lot of choice. However, one is limited in hairstyles and beards.
How to optimize the face: You can extensively customize your agent’s face. Here the game gives you many options for adjustments:
- Brow height
- Brow depth
- Eye line
- Eye spacing
- Nose width
- Nose height
- Nose root
- Mouth height
- Cheeks
- Chin line
- Ear spacing
- Ear size

How was it in The Division 1? Character customization in The Division 1 was significantly more limited. You only had 8 face shapes and 5 hairstyles to choose from. Only with tattoos, paint jobs, and piercings could you get a bit creative.
In The Division 2, the character editor is significantly more extensive.
