In Destiny 2, players can not only show off their looted weapons but also flaunt titles and compare high scores. The new expansion will soon turn the system upside down.
Here’s how Destiny players can show off: Players in Destiny 2 have many ways to prove who the real Guardian is. Showcasing happens with really rare gear, but also with dizzying high scores and catchy name additions such as “Unbroken” or “Savior” to stand out from the average player.
Bungie is giving a makeover to the last two points, the titles and triumphs. This is necessary because with the Beyond Light expansion, many contents will move into the Content Vault and thus (for now) become unplayable.
We summarize the most important changes to the system here and show you which titles you should better complete now before they become unreachable.
Soon you’ll have two high scores to show off
This is what happens with triumphs: The most noticeable change is that your triumph score will be split. Both numbers can then be displayed via emblem or when inspecting.
These two values will be available starting November 10:
- Total Points (Career Score)
- Active Points (Active Score)
Total points are meant to showcase all your achievements you have reached in Destiny 2 so far. The active points focus on all accomplishments that can be achieved in the current live game. These triumphs grant seasonal currency upon completion.
When a new season starts, the triumphs and points from the previous season will move to the so-called legacy triumphs – you will still see the achievements in total points, but no longer in active points.
Moreover, Bungie is streamlining the triumphs tab and consolidating numerous categories or revising old triumphs. Here’s what the new streamlined menu will look like in Beyond Light:
This is also changing: To give new players challenges and goals, a new “Overall” tab will be introduced. The tasks therein will be tailored to fresh Guardians and introduce them to the Destiny world.
It also fits that soon there will be a new origin story for everyone coming, which aims to enhance and expand the entry into the game.
It is also interesting that soon
- medals,
- Exotic masterwork catalysts,
- the stat tracker,
- and lore
will be neatly listed.
For story lovers, it also changes that you can read all existing lore entries in a new interface. Whenever new lore comes into the game, you unlock it as usual via triumphs. If these triumphs then move into the legacy, all players can access the story bits.
Which titles are unreachable in Beyond Light?
As numerous triumphs become unreachable, the associated titles will also leave the game. Those who want to adorn their name with one of these 6 prestigious additions should roll up their sleeves:
- Shadows (Menagerie and Raid: Leviathan)
- Instigator (Gambit Prime)
- Smith (Black Armory)
- Wanderer (Locations)
- Chronicle (Lore)
- Titles from Season 5 to Season 11
You can still hunt these old titles in Fall 2020:
- Unbroken (Crucible)
- Dredgen (Gambit)
- Flawless (Trials of Osiris)
- Conqueror (Strikes)
- Omen (Shadowkeep)
- Illuminated (Raid: Garden of Salvation)
- Cursebreaker (The Dreaming City)
- Riven’s Curse (Raid: Last Wish)

Beyond Light also introduces 3 new titles, of which we do not know the name or the requirements. Bungie lists them as follows:
- Beyond Light – [confidential]
- Season 12 – [confidential]
- [confidential]
What do you think of the changes? Bungie wants to hear your feedback and has assured that all current triumph data has been saved. This includes triumphs that will no longer be in the game when Beyond Light launches.
