In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lena Headey talked on October 27, 2023, about the film The Trap and also discussed the HBO hit series Game of Thrones. She explained how she felt about the end and what she missed most about the production afterward.

Lena Headey did not mourn Game of Thrones
When asked by the interviewer if the actress missed Game of Thrones, she gave a clear answer: No, she did not miss the series at all.
However, there is one thing Lena Headey mourned after the end: her colleagues and the special bond they all had.
She explained:
I miss the people – because you fall in love with people and form these family units. So it takes a while for that to pass. There is a strange sadness about these relationships.
But I don’t miss it [the series].

The actress expressed pride in what the cast achieved with the success of Game of Thrones and looked back positively on what they accomplished as a team:
“We did it. We gave it our all. It changed everyone’s damn world, and we will always have that.”

What kind of ending would she have wished for Cersei? In the same interview, the actress revealed how her ideal storyline towards the end of the series would have looked. She had envisioned a dramatic conclusion with another actress:
“[Arya Stark actress Maisie Williams] and I fantasized about a showdown between Cersei and Arya; that she returns disguised as Jaime. That was our dream. But they chose differently.”
