The head of Twitch, Dan Clancy (60), wanted to showcase a new feature of the streaming platform during a livestream, but all he saw on his phone were streams of half-naked women. This caused amusement but also criticism. Now he provides an explanation.
This was the scene: The CEO of Twitch wanted to demonstrate a new feature that closely resembles TikTok. He did this in a stream with NateGentile7:
- With the new feature, viewers can scroll vertically through various offerings on Twitch.
- The Twitch CEO demonstrated the new possibilities by swiping through the offerings on his phone.
- The problem: Only women were visible, who apparently use Twitch to promote their sexually suggestive and paid offerings on OnlyFans. No matter how much Clancy swiped: One woman in a swimsuit or in a suggestive pose replaced the other.

This was discussed. The clip featuring the CEO, who seemingly swipes desperately to find “non-sexual” content on his platform, received a lot of attention and was discussed mockingly.
The clip itself reached 316,000 views, and a discussion about it on reddit garnered almost 6,000 upvotes.
Because the clip with Clancy is seen as a supposed proof that the “Amouranth” model has prevailed on Twitch: Women use Twitch as a promotion platform to advertise their OnlyFans pages in “Hot Tub” or “Pool” streams. They appear in a sexually suggestive manner on Twitch. In these categories, Twitch’s clothing regulations apply only to a limited extent and it is allowed to show skin.
This is currently criticized by people who wish for Twitch to be a platform that primarily focuses on gaming.
In the clip, it seemed as if Clancy was watching these women all day and that was the reason his feed was full of them.
