Recently, it became known that a PSN account will soon be required to play Helldivers 2. Now the CEO of the development studio has spoken out.
The development studio behind Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Game Studios, recently announced that in the future a PSN account will be required to play the game. This obligation will also apply to players who play the game exclusively on Steam.
After the community reacted accordingly and punished the game with thousands of negative reviews on Steam, the CEO of the studio has now spoken out. However, a deviation from the plan does not seem to be on the agenda.
Regaining trust
What does the CEO say? The CEO of the development studio, Johan Pilestedt, has spoken out in a post on X. Here he addresses the negative reviews and believes they are justified. He apologizes for this development and hopes that they can make it right again and regain trust

He further states that he just wants to make great games
. There is no hint of considering the removal of the PSN requirement in this post.

What does the community say about it? In the community, the blame for the PSN requirement is placed on Sony. While Arrowhead Game Studios is responsible for the development of the game, Sony acts as the publisher for Helldivers 2.
