After some issues, the new MMORPG Lost Ark finally went live for everyone today. The Founder’s Packs have disappeared from the shop and been replaced by new Starter Packs. But be careful when you buy them.
What has changed? With the official launch of Lost Ark, the Founder’s Packs have disappeared from the shop. You can no longer get the pre-order packs and their contents from now on.
Now there are Starter Packs available for purchase in the shop. There are three different ones ranging from €19.99 to €64.99. However, what you actually get in these packs might differ from what you expect. The problem is a poorly written description of the contents.
What packs are available? Currently, there are 3 different Starter Packs in the shop:
- The Apprentice Starter Pack for €19.99
- The Explorer Starter Pack for €34.99
- The Vanquisher Starter Pack for €64.99
The packs come with the following contents:
Apprentice Starter Pack:
- 30 days of Crystal Aura
- Support Chest for new players
Explorer Starter Pack:
- 30 days of Crystal Aura
- Animal Selection Box, from which you get a pet of your choice
- Dyorika Warhorse, a mount
- Character Expansion Slot
- Support Chest for new players
Vanquisher Starter Pack:
- 2,100 Blue Crystals
- 30 days of Crystal Aura
- Animal Selection Box, from which you get a pet of your choice
- Dyorika Warhorse, a mount
- Character Expansion Slot
- Change Appearance of Characters
- Legendary Relationship Gift Selection Chest
- Support Chest for new players
- One skin of your choice
Is it worth buying multiple packs? Unlike the Founder’s Packs from the pre-orders, it is not worth buying multiple packs this time. The only items that can stack are the Crystal Aura and the pet. However, it’s not worth spending another €34.99 if you’ve already purchased the largest pack.
Beware of the most expensive pack
What is the problem? Steam currently lists the contents of the largest pack all individually. Unfortunately, it also lists all possible character skins that you can choose from the chests. This creates the expectation that all listed skins are included in the pack, which is not the case.
From the listed Alar skins, you can only choose one, while the others remain blocked to you and are not part of the package. So be careful here, as €64.99 currently leads to disappointment among players.
Additionally, many of the contents of the pack are bound to the character with which you redeem it. So, special caution is advised this time.
The community is annoyed: On Steam, the Vanquisher pack is currently receiving many negative reviews. Some players are disappointed that they only received one skin and criticize the poor communication.
Other users complain that they bought the pack but have not yet received it. This is because the shop is not functioning smoothly on some servers and the packs are being distributed in phases. So you shouldn’t worry about not receiving the pack.
