In Season 3 of Fortnite, there was a change regarding fire. If you aren’t careful, your buildings beneath you will catch fire.
What’s up with the fire? Fortnite has changed quite a bit with the launch of Season 3 in Chapter 2. This includes a new feature related to fire.
Some players are now reporting that their buildings, which they constructed themselves, can catch fire. Existing structures on the new Fortnite map can also catch fire. They then become nasty traps when you are inside or on top of them and it suddenly gets hot from below.
How such a fire can break out is shown by YouTuber Chris Outsiders in a video. He first shoots at a gas container, and quickly the fire spreads to the building next to it.
What’s different now? Usually, explosions in Fortnite didn’t have such great consequences. If something flew up next to a wooden structure, maybe a few pieces would blow off, but the rest would remain standing.
Now fire spreads to wooden structures and destroys them piece by piece. No matter how big the constructions are.
But this change does not only affect buildings. The campfires, which are supposed to heal you and restore health points, can now also become dangerous if you stand too close to them.
“You can also start burning now if you are standing directly over campfires. I learned this the hard way when I wanted to heal myself in the storm,” explains Whatisanamereally111 on reddit.
So now it’s better to keep a safe distance from the campfires.
Another new feature of Season 3 of Fortnite is cars. They are meant to help you get across the map quickly and escape from enemies or the storm. However, no one can drive the new cars in Fortnite yet.
