What kind of Pokémon is it? The small Alolan Pokémon Reißlaus made its debut in Pokémon GO with the start of the Crossover event for the trading card game. But where can you actually encounter the monster? And does it have an evolution? We have addressed the most important questions about Reißlaus and summarized them for you below.
Reißlaus – Locations, Evolution, and Shiny
What is Reißlaus as a Pokémon? Reißlaus is a Bug and Water Pokémon from the 7th generation of games. It visually resembles a silverfish with its small, scale-like, silvery body and long antennae.
With the help of 400 candies, you can evolve it into Tectass. The monster is significantly larger than Reißlaus. It stands on two legs and has large claws. But even here, the silvery, scale-like body is reflected.
Can you catch Shiny Reißlaus? No, the shiny variant of Reißlaus is unfortunately still not in the game.
Where can you catch Reißlaus? The Alolan Pokémon can be found everywhere in the wild during the crossover event for the trading card game. You can also look for the monster in level 1 raids. Additionally, you can encounter Reißlaus in the event field research “Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms”.
Whether and where Reißlaus will be available in the game after the event ends on June 30 at 8:00 PM local time is not yet known. As soon as we have more information on this, we will update the article accordingly.
Is it worth catching Reißlaus?
Reißlaus and Tectass are this strong: The stats of Reißlaus itself are not particularly strong; however, its evolution Tectass has a solid attack value. And its defense is also respectable.
Moreover, it features a very fast moveset with Fury Cutter and X-Scissor. Thus, it is a strong Bug attacker that competes with the best attackers in Pokémon GO. However, in the PvP league, Reißlaus and Tectass do not play a significant role.
Why should you catch Reißlaus? If you’re looking for a strong Bug attacker for raids, Tectass is the right choice. However, to evolve it, you need 400 candies, so you should collect some Reißlaus.
If you’re not interested in that and prefer to rely on other strong attackers, you should still secure Reißlaus and Tectass for the PokéDex while the Pokémon is more common. Shiny hunters, however, will not get what they are looking for, at least for now.
