Diablo 4 will celebrate its release soon, but can you play Blizzard’s action RPG offline? MeinMMO has all the important answers for you.
Diablo 4 launches on June 5 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. But many are asking: Can I play the action RPG offline, or do I have to be constantly connected to some server?
MeinMMO presents all the important information about Diablo 4 and explains when and how you can play.
You cannot play Diablo 4 offline at release
Can you play Diablo 4 offline? No. Diablo 4 officially does not support an offline mode. Blizzard has explicitly stated that you will need an online connection.
Even if you want to enjoy Diablo 4 mainly in single-player mode and are not interested in multiplayer, you still need an internet connection while playing.
Could an offline mode follow in the future? No, that is very unlikely. Because Diablo 4 relies on a live service model with strong online connectivity, which all require an online mode:
- PvP, where you can/must compete against other players
- World bosses that can only be defeated with other players.
- the controversial so-called “Shared World”.
Many contents are also designed to be tackled with other players. Features like the “Shared World” also cannot be turned off. Even if your fellow players get on your nerves, you have to live with them. The developers had already explained at the beginning that Diablo 4 should not be an MMO.
