The beta 1 of the PvP MMORPG Camelot Unchained was supposed to finally start on July 4, but it was postponed at short notice. Designer Mark Jacobs now stated that the testing phase will begin soon.
The beta is on a good path
It’s taking a while… The first beta of Camelot Unchained was originally supposed to start in 2016. However, major renovations to the skill system led to the testing phase being put on hold for the time being. Since then, fans have had to show a lot of patience. It was finally supposed to happen on July 4. However, the start of beta 1 was postponed at the last minute due to remaining bugs and an unsatisfactory stability of the servers postponed. And since then, players are waiting again…
Beta is “on a good path”
Mark Jacobs reports. Mark Jacobs, designer of the classic Dark Age of Camelot and now also of the unofficial successor Camelot Unchained, spoke about the status of the beta in a Q&A session. According to him, the testing phase is on a very good path and should start soon. However, he did not want to give a date. Instead, he explained what the team is currently working on:
- The server stability has been brought to an acceptable level
- Players can currently spend four hours in the game without experiencing a crash
- The performance is to be further improved for beta 1
- Currently, stress tests are taking place, which are pushing the servers to their limits
According to Mark Jacobs, it should really not take much longer before beta 1 of Camelot Unchained begins. Fans just need a little more patience…
