In Call of Duty WW2 (CoD WWII), the reveal trailer has been released. First official information about the new installment of the series. The release date is known.
Today, on April 26th, the reveal stream for Call of Duty: WW2 took place at 7 PM. In the days and weeks prior, there were several leaks about the new CoD, which is being developed by Sledgehammer Games. As of today, there is finally official footage available.
After the sci-fi settings of the last years with Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3, and Infinite Warfare, it goes back to the past in 2017. The setting of CoD WWII is World War II.
The release is on November 3, 2017!
Here is the reveal trailer:
“The Right Game at the Right Time”
Activision’s CEO Eric Hirshberg spoke in advance with Polygon about the “Call of Duty” series. He admitted that Infinite Warfare last year was the wrong game at the wrong moment. The reveal trailer for this CoD was not well received by the passionate fan community, received massive dislikes, and became the worst-rated trailer on YouTube. The biggest criticism: the space setting.
According to Hirshberg, CoD WW2 is now the right game at the right time from the right development team. They want to return to the roots and comprehensively portray the horrors of war. It is emphasized multiple times: “Boots on the Ground”.
The game is said to be full of details. You will likely fight on land, at sea, and in the air. Tanks, ships, and planes are visible in the trailer. The developers conducted historical research to create a credible setting – Europe in the mid-20th century.
It is supposed to be the best game Sledgehammer Games has ever made. You will need skills in handling weapons and strategic approaches. CoD WW2 is expected to have a wide range of weapons.
There will be a multiplayer beta before the release. Many details about multiplayer are expected at E3. Maps, modes, weapons, movements, melee combat, lots of new stuff.
Only this image was released for a co-op mode – looks very much like Nazi Zombies:
What do you think of the reveal trailer for Call of Duty: WW2? On YouTube, the first ratings are overwhelmingly positive (currently 33,000 thumbs up to 1,800 thumbs down).
