Call of Duty: Warzone is a free battle royale video game for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It was originally released as Warzone 2.0 and was a sequel to Call of Duty: Warzone from 2020 and is part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II 2022. Since it became clear that the original Warzone was ending, the 2.0 was dropped and it became the new Warzone. The game features cross-platform play and a new extraction mode called DMZ. It was officially introduced by Activision at Call of Duty Next in September 2022 and released on November 16, 2022. In the game, there is a new map called Al Mazrah, as well as various new movement mechanics such as climbing, diving, and swimming. There are also AI opponents that attack players with less than a 1 KD. The new Warzone features a shared progression system that is shared with both Modern Warfare II and Warzone Mobile.
