Call of Duty says: Thanks to us, 54,000 veterans have a well-paid job

The current “Call of Duty” installment Black Ops 4 and especially its publisher Activision are repeatedly accused by numerous fans of greed. They claim that they would try by all means to squeeze as much money as possible from the fans. However, Call of Duty can apparently also do differently and emphasizes its good deeds.

What many don’t know: Call of Duty operates its own foundation that is committed to charitable purposes – the so-called “Call of Duty Endowment“.

This is a non-profit organization supported by Activision Blizzard, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

What does the “Call of Duty” foundation do? The focus of the foundation is on army veterans of the British and U.S. armed forces who are looking for work after their military careers.

The foundation searches for and funds the best and most promising organizations that help job-seeking veterans reintegrate into civilian life and prepare them for highly qualified work.

The funds come from donations and charity sales and go 100% to the benefit of those in need. Since 2009, more than $35 million has already been raised this way. Activision Blizzard covers the ongoing costs of the foundation, having already donated more than $25 million themselves.

These are the results: Since its founding in 2009, the Call of Duty Endowment has helped more than 54,000 veterans to a “highly qualified” career.

In 2018 alone, with the help of the foundation and 11 supporting organizations, more than 10,000 veterans received well-paid jobs.

93% of these jobs were full-time positions with an average starting salary of more than $58,000 annually. 87% of the employed veterans retained their jobs after more than 6 months.

As an immediate goal, they have set the proud mark of helping 100,000 veterans find employment.
