Starting from October 25, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be available – in most places also in the PS Store. However, this will not be the case in Russia, confirmed the official Twitter channel.
This is the status of CoD Modern Warfare: The new Call of Duty installment is officially set to release on October 25. The PS4 version will be playable in Germany starting at 00:00. Some players reportedly are already playing the game or selling “preview versions”.
However, it will be difficult for PS4 players in Russia to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Modern Warfare removed from PS Store despite “fictional story”
This happened: Shortly before the release of the game, it was finally announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would not be available in the PS Store. The official Russian Twitter channel confirmed this:
CoD Russia shared: The tweet states that Modern Warfare revolves around a completely fictional story, which is meant to please all players. However, Sony Interactive Entertainment decided not to distribute the game in the Russian PS Store.
They are now looking forward to the digital release of the game on PC and Xbox – here, the launch will also be on October 25.
How surprising is the ban? Already in September, it hinted that CoD: Modern Warfare might not be available in the Russian PS Store. The beta of the game was removed from the store shortly before launch. It had only been announced shortly before that – however, there was no official explanation of the reasons.
