In September, an open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will take place on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, very little is known about the content so far. Now the developers have revealed a new detail about it. This feature will be included.

This feature has now been confirmed: Although some details about the beta have already been disclosed, Infinity Ward has remained largely silent about the content. However, a feature has now been confirmed in a Reddit post that players can try out during the beta test – the so-called Gunsmith.
What is the Gunsmith about? The Gunsmith feature is essentially part of the loadout editor. This system explicitly focuses on weaponry. Your arsenal can be customized for different scenarios and needs – more extensively and deeply than ever before.
Depending on the type of weapon, you can choose from up to 60 different attachments (up to 30 for pistols) at up to eight positions (and one perk slot) and modify your firearm with up to five of them.
Many players are already excited about this feature and look forward to experimenting with it in the beta. The Gunsmith was not included in the PS4-exclusive alpha. However, the composition of the weapon is said to have a significant impact on gunplay and promote many different playstyles.

These beta contents are already known: Infinity Ward has not shared much information. Besides the Gunsmith, we currently know the following about the content of the upcoming Modern Warfare beta:
- there will be a multiplayer beta
- the 2vs2 Gunfight mode will also be playable. So if you missed the alpha, you can still test this mode.
- during the second beta weekend, crossplay between PC, PS4, and Xbox One will be tested
How is Modern Warfare being received so far? Players on the PlayStation 4 have already been able to test the multiplayer of Modern Warfare in a limited capacity during the alpha test. The feedback has been mixed. Many fans had a lot of fun, but there was also some criticism – such as regarding a specific visual effect.
