On October 1st, the mobile game Call of Duty Mobile was launched. There were some issues, but it did not hinder the current success of the title.
What does Call of Duty Mobile offer? You experience the familiar shooter battles of the Call of Duty series now on mobile. It is played in multiple modes and on various, some familiar, maps. Additionally, you can try your hand at a battle royale mode.
A Rough Start
How was the launch? At the release on October 1st, there were several issues. Players reported that they were unable to connect to the server. After the loading screen, it just wouldn’t go any further.
Furthermore, despite the appropriate announcement, it is not possible to play with a controller.
How did the developers respond? Activision addressed the issues and stated that they were working on a hotfix for the connection problem. This followed promptly and improved the situation. However, there are still reports of connection problems. They are not as severe as at launch.
Regarding the lack of controller support, Activision explained that it is still in the testing phase and therefore this control method cannot be selected in all countries. Further details on controller support are expected to follow later.

How does Call of Duty Mobile perform? Right after launch, the free-to-play mobile game climbed to number 1 among free iOS apps in 33 countries, and in 30 other regions, the title landed in the top 5.
Currently, the shooter also ranks 59th in the U.S. iPhone charts for games generating the most revenue. That’s a respectable entry.
What do players think of the mobile shooter? Even though there was significant frustration initially due to the connection problem, Call of Duty Mobile is very well received.
