Call of Duty and Bandai Namco have teamed up to bring the legendary battle mechs from Gundam into the game. However, opinions on the new skins are divided.
What is about to be released? Players of Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 can soon join the battle with new skins. These are being released in collaboration with Bandai Namco and allow you to enter battle in the suits of the legendary battle mechs from the Gundam franchise.
- There will be three bundles, each featuring a cult mech, along with blueprints, weapon charms, stickers, and other goodies.
- Starting with MS-06S Zaku II, followed by RX-78-2, and lastly a modern interpretation of the classic XXV-016.
The first bundle is already available. You can take a look at how the skins look in the game in the following trailer:
What are the reactions? The reactions to the skins are actually quite varied when looking at the comments under the trailers (via YouTube). While many users feel that the crossover is not successful, others seem to be very excited about it.
Among the comments, there are even some players who say they would return to the game just for these skins or are even considering starting with Call of Duty for the first time. For example, one user writes in their comment: “It looks so good, even though it’s CoD. If I could play in Gundam suits in third-person, I would actually play CoD.”
Soldiers now look like cosplayers?
However, other players seem to disagree with this opinion. “These are not Gundams, these are cosplayers running around with guns,” writes one user in their comment. Indeed, many players feel that the collaboration simply did not fit. The Gundams don’t fit well into the world of Call of Duty, which is why you see many users drawing comparisons to cosplayers.
There are ongoing debates in Call of Duty about various skins in the game. What do you think of the new skins? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments. Similar to this case, opinions on the new look of a character from Silent Hill 2 are also divided: Silent Hill 2 is despite the excitement one of the best-selling pre-orders on PS5
