Call of Duty is known to be a full-price title. Only Warzone is an exception as a F2P shooter. Now, Microsoft has confirmed that the upcoming installment of the series will be free in some way for millions of players.
In what way will Black Ops 6 be free? Microsoft has officially announced that the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be included in Game Pass from day one. They state on the website:
We are pleased to confirm that Game Pass members can play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 from day one in the Game Pass.
Subscribers to Game Pass can then download and play the latest installment of the series essentially for free. Such an offer has not been available for CoD games until now. In the past, it was said: you pay full price, don’t buy it at all, or wait many months for a deal.
Of course, the game is not truly free since you still have to pay for the subscription. However, if you do not purchase the subscription specifically for CoD, but already own it to play titles like the new Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, ARK: Survival Ascended, or Fallout 4, then you will get Black Ops 6 without having to pay extra.
There is now also a first live-action trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6:
What will Black Ops 6 be about? There is currently not much known about that, and the new trailer does not provide many details either. The grand presentation of the shooter will take place on June 9, 2024, following the Microsoft Showcase.
However, there are some leaks about Black Ops 6 that suggest the game will take place during the Gulf War. It is even said that real military operations and the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, will be included in the game.
Additionally, some players believe that the Iraqi politician Saddam Hussein can be recognized in the live-action trailer. There is also speculation that the other individuals might be George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Margaret Thatcher: The reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 suggests the shooter could be controversial.
