Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 receives a mode that fans have been waiting for years and reveals exciting innovations

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will continue the popular shooter series on October 25, 2024. The reveal on June 9 also revealed that exciting new features and the return of a beloved mode will be included.

What announcement have fans been waiting for years? At the reveal event, Activision officially confirmed that there will be a turn-based zombie mode again after years of absence – just like in the older CoD games.

Many CoD fans had already wished for such a zombie mode for MW3. However, when MWZ turned out to be more of a zombie variant of an extraction shooter, disappointment spread throughout the community.

With Black Ops 6, the zombie experience will be a horde mode once again.

What new features have been announced? The highlight was certainly the so-called omnidirectional movement, which will be introduced with BO6 and will have several effects on your movement.

You can:

sprint in all directions
lie down and turn at full speed in all directions
jump in all directions and shoot in the air during the jump
slide in all directions

The Omni-Movement is expected to change the way you play the game, as has been stated in the stream, both in the campaign and in multiplayer or zombie mode.

In addition, there will be what is called intelligent movement, which will allow you to press fewer keys for certain actions. There will be an assistant for actions like sprinting or crouching, which can be enabled in the settings.

It was also announced that the HUD of BO6 will be customizable. You can move details like the minimap to another position or even turn it off, creating a HUD that is more oriented towards hardcore shooters.

The campaign focuses on espionage during the Gulf War

What has been said about the campaign? The campaign of Black Ops 6 takes place after the events of Cold War and during the Gulf War in the early 1990s. The flashbacks seen in Black Ops 2 are said to be linked to the events in BO6.

In BO6, we embody the former CIA agents Frank Woods and Troy Marshall, who were banished from the CIA and the country after a failed mission. We already played as Woods in BO1 and BO2.

Espionage is a fundamental aspect of the campaign.
There will be “risky heists”.
The missions are said to be able to be completed in various ways – depending on the choice you make during execution.
The campaign will also include conversation opportunities, allowing you to manipulate your conversation partners and create new paths.
The return of the theater mode is confirmed.
The campaign hub is an abandoned villa that serves as a safe house for the team.

What do we know about the multiplayer of BO6? At launch, the multiplayer of BO6 will have a total of 16 different maps:

12 6v6 maps
4 engagement maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6

The multiplayer takes place after the events of the campaign and leads you to locations seen there.

There will be 10 prestige levels, and when you reach level 10, you should unlock 1,000 additional levels with new rewards. The complete prestige system will be available at launch.
