Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will offer a battle royale mode alongside the usual Call of Duty multiplayer modes. You’ll soon be able to test it yourself in a dedicated beta.
Battle Royale in Call of Duty: Due to the enormous success of games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Fortnite: Battle Royale, there is now also a battle royale mode in the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. In a battle royale game, dozens of players (usually 100) compete against each other on a large map. The last survivor wins.
According to the developers at Treyarch, the battle royale in the new Black Ops 4 will have its own Call of Duty flair. Therefore, characters from the series will appear, and there will be land, water, and air vehicles.
When is the beta for Battle Royale coming?
First Console and Multiplayer: For Black Ops 4, Activision and Treyarch have planned two betas:
- Multiplayer Beta: This beta includes only the regular multiplayer modes and starts on PlayStation 4 on August 3 and ends on August 6. The following weekend, starting from August 10 (for preorder customers) and August 11 (for everyone else), the PC version is to be released, playable through BattleNet.
- Battle Royale Beta: This beta will start in September and specifically focuses on the battle royale mode “Blackout.” More precise details on the start of the beta are not yet known.
Are there rewards for beta participation? Indeed, Treyarch is offering a unique recognition feature for all beta participants. You can then show off your achievement. Those who reach the maximum rank in the beta will receive a unique item for the class editor.
