Deep in the game files of Fortnite: Battle Royale, data miners have found new content. They have stumbled upon C4, new grenades, and even a weapon for Easter! We take a look at the new toys!
Epic regularly brings new items and weapons to Fortnite: Battle Royale, aiming to keep the player experience feeling fresh. With the last update, new items have emerged in the game files that the community is eagerly speculating about.
We take a look at what the new weapons and items might be. Keep in mind that none of these items are currently in the game – there is also no guarantee that these weapons will ever make it into the game!
stink bombs, C4, and more – new items in Fortnite: Battle Royale!
The data miners have also provided corresponding images:
Top left: A new grenade that will likely be called a gas grenade or stink bomb and is expected to cause damage over time. Currently, there is only one grenade in the game that deals damage, so the gas grenade would be a logical addition. Whether the stink bomb will also obscure vision is still unclear.
Top middle: A new submachine gun? So far, there is no submachine gun with legendary rarity in the game, but that could soon change. What the weapon will be like is entirely unclear. To stand out from the other models, it could deal less damage per shot but have a significantly faster rate of fire.
Top right: Looks like a rocket launcher, but has electrical signs on the side. Also, the expression “Boom” on the edge of the weapon indicates an explosive weapon. Rumor has it that the weapon could resemble the Zapotron, a heavy laser rifle from the “Save the World” mode.
Bottom left: The symbol clearly indicates C4. Presumably, the found C4 will be placed at a specific location. Whether it detonates remotely or after a certain time automatically is unclear. The transmitter on the side suggests remote detonation. The explosive material would open up new tactical possibilities.
Bottom middle: A new assault rifle with a scope. Initial predictions suggest a firing behavior similar to that of burst assault rifles. Are we seeing the first legendary assault rifle with a scope?
Bottom right: Here we are likely seeing an Easter-themed variant of the grenade launcher. Such a special edition already occurred at Christmas – there, the grenade launcher shot snowballs. For Easter, we will probably deal with eggs that, with proper physical behavior, will bounce around even more.
When these items will come and how they will work is still completely unclear. Furthermore, it is unknown whether these items will also come in the “Save the World” mode.
