Yesterday afternoon, invitations were sent via email to PSN users to be able to order a PS5 from Sony’s own store, PlayStation Direct, tomorrow morning, on 02.08.2022. In the past, a public sale followed, but unfortunately not every time.

Update from August 2nd, 11:32 AM: The sale at PS Direct started an hour ago. We can expect a possible public sale no earlier than 12:00 PM.
How can I order the PS5 at PlayStation Direct? If you are among the lucky ones who received an invitation from Sony, you will find a link in it that leads directly to the PS5 product page. So it’s best to check your inbox and also your spam folder. To complete the order, a credit card has always been required. In the last sale from PlayStation Direct, payment via PayPal was also possible.
When does the sale at PlayStation Direct start? From 10:30 AM on 02.08., you can click on the link in your invitation and order the PS5 console. Only one unit can be ordered per account.
How can I order at PlayStation Direct without an invitation? It is possible that there will also be a public sale afterwards. This has sometimes been the case in the past.
